Update on the 2014 Congressional Elections: Republicans Win an Additional House Seat
After a recount, a Republican was certified as
elected to the United States of Representatives from Arizona over the Democratic incumbent, giving
the GOP a total of 247 seats in the lower chamber of the incoming Congress,
their largest majority since 1933.
Republicans gained a net of 13 members in their caucus in the House. The Democrats will hold only 188 seats.
