Remember on Memorial Day American Citizens from All the States and Territories and Legal Residents Who Sacrificed in Wartime Military Service
On Memorial Day in America, we commemorate in gratitude those who sacrificed their lives in wartime military service to the United States for its liberty and representative government. I note particularly that those who died in combat have come not only from the 50 States and the federal District of Columbia, but include American citizens from Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and American nationals from American Samoa. It is also particularly timely amidst a resurgence of nativism to note the many immigrants from around the world who were obtaining their U.S. citizenship through military service who have sacrificed their lives for their fellow Americans, in addition to a great many who were already naturalized. May God bless America and all Americans, including citizens, nationals and legal residents throughout the States and territories, and keep them free.
